SECOND HALF RUN LIFTS LADY BULLDOGS OVER PHILANDER

Tougaloo, MS-The Tougaloo College Lady Bulldogs hosted the Lady Panthers of Philander Smith here tonight in the Dawg Pound. The Lady Bulldogs made a second half run to defeat the Lady Panthers 81-68 to improve to 14-6, 5-3 GCAC.

After a slow start in the first half and a 41-38 halftime deficit, the Lady Bulldogs would ignite in the second half to outscore the Lady Panthers 43-27 to take the victory. Although the Lady Bulldogs shot a better FG percentage in the first half, they would score more points in the second half. The Lady Bulldogs shot 50% from the field in the first half, but only shot 31% in the second. The Lady Panthers shot 46% in the first half and 25% in the second half. The Lady Bulldogs also outrebounded the Lady Panthers 55-35.

Portia Craft led the Lady Bulldogs with 25 points. Chasity Kearney followed with 16 points and 18 rebounds, Erin Wells chipped in 14 points, and Kierra Addison tacked in 10 points. The Lady Bulldogs will be back in action on Monday as they host the Lady Bulldogs of Fisk University. Game time is set for 5:30 P.M.
