TOUGALOO FINISHES FOURTH IN CONFERENCE MEET
Clinton, MS-The Tougaloo College Men's Cross Country team participated in the GCAC Cross Country Championship this morning at Choctaw Trails here in Clinton. The Bulldogs finished fourth in the meet, hosted by Dillard, with a score of 97 points.
After finishing fourth in last year's championship, the Bulldogs were looking to finished in the top three this year. Unfortunately, that did not happen, as they were 7 points shy of coming in third. The Bulldogs overall time was 2:47:50.55. They were led by freshman Nicolos Jones, who finished 10th out of the 36 runners with a time of 30:50.54. Joshua Leggette followed at 18th with a time of 32:43.50. Myles James came in 19th with a time of 33:48.92 and Lawrence McClendon finished 20th with a time of 33:49.24. Nicholas Porter finished 30th with a time of 36:38.35 and Brian Ambrose finished 34th with a time of 39:25.06.
The Bulldogs finished fourth behind Dillard Univeristy, who finished third with a score of 91. Xavier University won the meet with a score of 15, with 6 of their 7 runners finishing in the top 10. Edward Waters were the conference runner-ups with a score of 54. SUNO finished fifth with a score of 116 and Fisk finished last with a score of 147. The Bulldogs had a great run this season and will work hard for next season.
