TOUGALOO PARTICIPATES IN WATSON FORD INVITATIONAL
Clinton, MS-The Tougaloo College Men's Cross Country Team traveled across town to Clinton, MS to participate in the Watson Ford Invitational Meet hosted by Mississippi College at Choctaw Trails. The Bulldogs finished last in the Non-Division I category with a score of 200 points.
Although the Bulldogs have been struggling from week to week, they are getting better and better with each meet. The Bulldogs finished in last place with a time of 2:59:11.67. Although the results makes it look as though the Bulldogs were last, they finished the race well, as they finished above Division I Jackson State University, who did not score in the meet at all. Hendrix won the meet with a score of 33. Host school Mississippi College finished 2nd with a score of 60 points, GCAC foe Xavier University finished 3rd with a score of 64, Millsaps finished 4th with a score of 79, East Texas Baptist finished 5th with a score of 130, and Belhaven finished 6th with a score of 166.
Nicolos Jones led the way for the Bulldogs, finishing 35th of 46 runners with a time of 32:17.90. Following Jones was Joshua Leggette, who finished 39th with a time of 33:34.36. Other runners included Lawrence McClendon, who finished 42nd with a time of of 34:32.25; Myles James, who finished 44th with a time of 35:59.17; and Nicholas Porter, who finished with a time of 42:53.51. The Bulldogs will be back in action on Saturday, October 13th, as they travel back to Choctaw Trails for the Choctaw Open hosted by Mississippi College.
