JONES FINISHES IN TOP TEN AT MVSU INVITATIONAL

Itta Bena, MS-The Tougaloo College Men's Cross Country team traveled to Itta Bena, MS on Saturday to participate in the Mississippi Valley State University Invitational Meet. Although the Bulldogs came in last place, Nicolos Jones finished in the top ten runners, crossing the finish line 9th of 22 runners.

After not scoring the the first two meets, the Bulldogs were looking to get it right at this meet and having all of its runners to cross the finish line. That goal would get accomplished, but not in enough time for the Bulldogs to upset any of the other 3 teams, as they would come in last with a score of 86 points. The host MVSU would finish 1st with a score of 23 points, the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff would finished 2nd with a score of 49 points, and Jackson State University would finish 3rd with a score of 64 points.

Sophomore Nicolos Jones, a transfer from the host school, finished strong for the Bulldogs, crossing the finish line 9th with a time of 24:56. Jones has been looking very impressive this season, and he is working hard to be the ace runner for the Bulldogs in the meets to come. The Bulldogs will be back in action on Friday, October 5th as they plan to participate in the Watson Ford Invitational Meet hosted by Mississippi College in Clinton, MS.
