PATTERSON AND ANDERSON EARN ALL-HBCUAC HONORS
Two members of the Tougaloo College men's basketball team were recognized for their outstanding performances this season, as Antonio Patterson and Willie Anderson earned postseason honors from the HBCU Athletic Conference.
Patterson was named to the All-HBCUAC First Team, while Anderson earned All-HBCUAC Second Team recognition following impressive seasons that helped lead the Bulldogs to another successful year.
Patterson led Tougaloo in scoring this season, averaging 20 points per game, which ranked second in the conference. In addition to his scoring ability, Patterson made a major impact on the defensive end, finishing fifth in the conference in steals (2.1 per game) while also ranking 11th in rebounds with 6.9 per game.
His strong two-way play earned him recognition throughout the season, as he was named HBCUAC Offensive Player of the Week once and HBCUAC Defensive Player of the Week once. The First Team honor marks a significant milestone for Patterson, who was previously a two-time All-HBCUAC Second Team selection before earning First Team status this year.
Anderson also played a key role in the Bulldogs' success, earning All-HBCUAC Second Team honors after averaging 14.2 points per game during the season. Known for his consistent scoring and leadership on the court, Anderson provided a steady offensive presence for Tougaloo throughout the year.
In addition to his on-court achievements, Anderson was recently featured in the Allstate Sugar Bowl Athlete Spotlight, a program that highlights standout collegiate athletes from the New Orleans metropolitan area.
The postseason honors highlight the impact both Patterson and Anderson had in helping guide the Bulldogs through a strong season and into postseason play.
