Bulldogs Complete Season Sweep of Texas College

Tougaloo, Miss. - The Tougaloo College Bulldogs completed a season sweep of Texas College tonight following a 105-94 win here in the Dawg Pound.

After suffering their first loss of the season, the Bulldogs had no problem bouncing back as they downed the Steers in the Dawg Pound tonight to advance to 3-1 on the season. The Bulldogs took no time jumping on the Steers, taking an early lead and never looking back. At halftime, the Bulldogs held a 53-39 edge over the Steers. The Bulldogs shot 45% from the field, 39% from behind the arc and 71% from the charity stripe. The Steers shot 33% from the field, 23% from behind the arc and 92% from the free throw line. The Bulldogs outrebounded the Steers 44-36. The Bulldogs also capitalized on the Steers turnovers, scoring 27 points off 19 turnovers.

Tonzell Handy led the way for the Bulldogs, posting 32 points and 15 rebounds. Denarius Odell followed with 23 points and Dearius Griffin and Jadarius Haymer chipped in 15 points apiece. Carlo McDonald added 11 rebounds for the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs will be back in action on Monday as they travel to Rust College. Tip-off is set for 7:30 P.M.
