BULLDOGS SPLIT WITH FORMER GCAC FOE LOYOLA
Tougaloo, MS-The Tougaloo College Bulldogs hosted former GCAC foe Loyola University today at the James C. Coleman Athletic Complex. The Bulldogs split with the Wolfpack, falling 13-4 in game one and bouncing back in game two to take a 13-3 victory over the Wolfpack.
In game one, Michael Glasper, a freshman from Baton Rouge, LA received the loss for the Bulldogs; going 4 innings and giving up 7 runs on 5 hits, walking 6 batters and striking out 3 batters. Timothy Jackson led the Bulldogs' offense with 2 hits and 1 RBI. Enmanuel Frias followed with 2 hits (one of which was a double). Riki Vasquez, Lige Mims, and Corlis Oliver all had 1 hit and 1 run for the Bulldogs. Jasper James and Joshua Swords had 1 hit and 1 RBI apiece. Joshua Thomas had 1 hit and Jabarii Carr had 1 run for the Bulldogs.
In game two, John Alford, a senior from Morton, MS received the win for the Bulldogs; going all 7 innings and giving up 3 runs (only 1 earned run) on 5 hits, walking 2 batters and striking out 5 batters. Enmanuel Frias led the Bulldogs' offense with 2 hits, 2 runs, and 1 RBI. Tony Mitchell followed with 2 hits, and 2 runs. Marcus Brumfield had 2 hits, 1 run, and 2 RBIs. Riki Vasquez and Joshua Thomas had 1 hit, 1 run, and 2 RBIs apeice. Dustin Porter, Jasper James, Joshua Swords, and Tim Jackson all had 1 hit and 1 run. Lige Mims had 1 hit and 2 RBIs. Darrell Bowie and Malik Richard had 1 hit and 1 RBI apiece and Corlis Oliver and Luis Rodriguez scored 1 run apiece. The win is the Bulldogs' first victory over the Wolfpack since 2010.
The Bulldogs will be back in action on Saturday as they travel to Talladega, AL to take on Talladega College in a conference doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 P.M.
