The spirit of excellence was on full display as 34 current and former student-athletes from Tougaloo College received degrees during the institution's 2026 Commencement Ceremony, highlighting the continued success of Bulldog athletics in the classroom and beyond.
Among the graduating class, 23 student-athletes earned academic honors, showcasing the dedication, discipline, and commitment required to excel both academically and athletically.
The ceremony featured an inspiring address from commencement speaker Demond Martin, co-founder and CEO of WellWithAll, who encouraged graduates to continue leading with purpose, resilience, and service as they enter the next chapters of their lives.
One of the most emotional moments of the ceremony came as the late Cameron D. Woodall was awarded his Bachelor of Arts degree in Health & Recreation posthumously. Woodall, a standout member of the men's basketball program, was remembered for his impact on the court, in the classroom, and throughout the Tougaloo community. His mother and brother proudly accepted the degree on his behalf, drawing heartfelt applause and reflection from those in attendance.
Graduate students earning degrees included Morgan Williams (Women's Basketball), who received a Master of Arts in Child Development, and Dylan McKinnis (Baseball), who earned a Master of Arts in Teaching–Secondary Education.
The undergraduate graduating class represented nearly every athletic program on campus and included multiple summa cum laude, magna cum laude, cum laude, and honors graduates.
